We have been presented with a number of innovative technologies as part of the work as ESA Technology Broker UK. Among these are the optical camera systems designed by VTV, who are interested in synergies with the space sector.
The camera systems they design are capable of operating in environments of up to 16.5k PSI and temperatures ranging from -80 to plus 150 degrees C. This has been made possible through a knowledge of pressure containers and electronic devices capable of operating in harsh environments.
The optical camera elements gather and modulate compressed and encoded data and metadata onto very narrow bandwidths, without detriment to quality of image, whilst maintaining the best possible frame rates and resolution/contrasts.
By combining video compression algorithms with the design of box-ready optical products for deployment, VTV deliver optical sensing solutions across the visible and UV/IR multi spectrum, as well as hardware to house the equipment.
Potential applications for the space sector include small satellite sector monitoring of earth bound objects, agriculture or environmental, etc.
